Hey y'all! I've been a lil bit lazy on updating the blog, but I'm back. Meanwhile, I've been working up my monk avi a bit. Forget about Temporal PT hunting thing, cuz I've been waiting around in southern Prontera, but it seems like no one will pick me up, so far. Anyway, so I was doing the good ol'e solo, again. Look at the pic above, I'm mean, no kiddin' right? While I'm at Turtle Island Dungeon, I've heard about "Cancelling Motion Delay". Well, may be most of you already know, but just for some that doesn't know about what the heck I'm talkin' about, lemme ask you a question. Did you notice when you use Occult Impaction couple times in a row, some time the second Occult Impaction seems like occuring without casting time? Well, that's what I'm talkin' about. Let me explain a lil bit farther in detail. What's happening is, Usually when you cast a spell for Occult Impaction, once the attack is over, there is a short time called "motion delay", it looks like character is posing or freezing. (Almost every skill have this freezing moments.) When you are at this "posing stage", you can not cast another spell until the delay time is over. However, you can avoid this "delay" by a lil trick. For instance, you can cast Spirit Balls even when you are at this "posing stage". The trick is very hard to explain, but lemme give it a try. There are prolly more ways and prolly better way to do this, but well, the one I'm gonna write is the one I found myself easier. The positioning of the Monster is critical. (Until you get used to it.) First Try This: x x x ○ x ▲ x x x
x=space ○=self ▲=enemy
This positioning is easily done by using Spirit Spheres Absorption on the enemy monster you want to target. (the turtle for this case)Enemy will walk towad to you but gives one space between you and him, usually. (Some time it doesnt, then you need to walk away exactly one space from the enemy.)
After achieving this positioning. 1: Punch Function key for Occult Impaction. (left hand) 2: Get your mouse cursor over to the target. 3: Click it to release Occult Impaction. (right hand) 4: Quickly click the monster or the space that lies between you and the monster. (This is critical point. If you click it after your "casting time is over", its' too late! Depends on DEX status, but for Dex 50 Monk, as soon as you release the Occult Impaction, click the space.) 5: punch function key for the second occult Impaction. (lefthand) quickly as well. 6:Release the secon Occult Impaction. 7:Cast Summon Spirit Spheres.
For those of you who have done a lil bit of music lesson, here is a lil help I draw. (R=Right hand movements, L=Left hand movements) Remember, this rhythm may be changed due to one's dex status. (But for Dex 50 (with blessing), this rhythm prolly works...)
Another hint. It's prolly hard for you at the first time. So, let's separate the stages. Until you get to used to "Cancelling and casting the second spell", just try to focus on cancelling delays alone. Try just to click another place right after releasing Occult Impaction, and see if your avi moves without posing. Once you are able to do this, try recasting right after. Try Occult Impaction-Regular Attack (clicking the monster), for another practice. If your avi is attacking without posing after Occult Impaction, then you've got it!
Here is me practicing and succeeded in doing the "Occult Impaction-Regular Attack (triple attack this time)-Occult Impaction.
The yellow damage 777 shows my triple fist attack. Damage on right hand corner shows the damage of Occult Impaction skill. It's not a very clear picture, but I guess it can only done by showing in movie file or somethin'.
After the practice, my avi is now at 40%! 60% more to go, yay baby, whoa!! .... (right!)
