To Be or Not To Be...
The Lighthalzen updates had made me wonder about whether to continue or not about this game.
It IS a fun dungeon, but it does require hard work, that almost seems impossible...
I like my "passive" high agility monk avi, as you can see, I love playing the monk till I raise him till Lv.99. It did take me a long time to get there... After getting aura, I don't feel like hunting at all... Although, I would hunt in group, when my friends ask me to join but there ain't not much of "willingness" in me.
Many had asked me when I will be a Transcendent character, the champion... I always said to them, "later, after I get my gears, ready"... In truth, I don't think I will transcend.
Yes, I've been going into the Conron Dungeon, and Cobolt fields to earn some in world money, but I just don't have the urge to hunt, other than out of economical necessity. For me, the RO is becoming one of the chat software.
The newest update, Lighthalzen was okay... As the creator had suggested in iRO interview, it is the toughest dungeon ever. But I disagree to what he said in the interview... He said "It's worth fighting because the reward that awaits players are great"... I disagree to that... It doesn't worth even going there...
The Lighthalzen 3rd floor itself restrict what kind of players can be entered in. The first challenge is the level restriction, 95/upper for the regular avi and 90/upper for transcendent. That itself, requires a "LONG time". For a person who have a job and plays for his/her free time, it's definately seems to be impossible... (Exceptions applies to its character's type) So the dungeon itself had eliminated the possiblity of "light players".
That didn't apply to me, I guess, for now till I descendent. I am a Lv 99 monk, so that level restriction, I already had passed.
There are other "implied" restrictions, however...
To survive in that dungeon, you do need a refined gears. Starting with the shield card, you prolly wanna humanoid specialized shield, the card itself in lydia's current price is 10,800,000 zeny up to 14,800,000. The price of this card shot out rocket high recently, because of the nPRO's efforts to eliminate the bots (although, I still see many bots in almost all the field, I go hunting! ugh!) and the updates of "Lighthalzen" itself... The dungeon full of humanoid type enemies. May be for some of addicts, might say 10M ain't that much. For regular players, I think 10M is something that you don't just "gets"... Let's say you got the card, then you need to buy well refined shield to put the card in... That takes another 18M or so... on +7 buckler with a slot. Even ready made +7 humanoid specialized buckler costs about 26M up to 29,800,000. I will say, that's a lot of inworld money!! It takes time for those of who don't have much to go on. I say this from my experience. Some old timers or "addicts" may say that ain't that much, you can easily earn that much of zeny in just a second! But for those who are "regular" players who plays and who hunts for the "fun", those kind of money is very expensive!
Some may say, why don't you make an avi that will easily earn enough money, like "agility specialized wizard"? Well, the point is, is it worth raising?! Is it worth putting that much effort for just a data in a virtual world... Yeah, I've tried to raise the Mage avi, because one of my friend had kept on saying, "oh, I earned this, I earned that"... The fact is, the mage does need "recovery items" (which causes another inworld expense), and it takes time to getting used to playing that "avi". Learning the different ways to fight... and lemme just say, the mage wasn't for me... It came to a point, that playing as mage was no longer fun... Yeah, may be I ain't good at playing this game... But does it worth practicing to be a skilled player? After all, it IS just a GAME... As for me, all this questions came out to be the simple answer of "NO".
It is a Game, and I like the agi specialized passive monk. I can have fun with that avi. Just to kill a time, or just to chat... I pay real money to play this game, to "play" not to "work".
Yeah, I will say lighthalzen ain't for every body, and it certainly ain't for all types of characters. The character types does have limit and players does "usually" have limits... Whether or not, you gonna keep "working hard" for it or not, is up to you.

What makes me getting online to play RO?
For now, to chat... is the main reason, I guess. I just can't imagine, my avi going back through the "fighting acolyte" stage and this time 3 times experience points needed... Raising back to where I am right now, having efficient fighting skills? Forget it!
